Undefeated Lebanon beat the ConVal boys’ tennis team 9-0, on Wednesday, but there were some really good matches among the losses, said head coach Michael Young. Ted Ernst played one of his best matches against Leb’s former No. 1, but just could not win a game. Alex Chambers again played a back-and-forth, one-and-a-half hour grinder, only to lose in a tiebreak.
Chambers played well once again on Thursday, winning 8-5 in ConVal’s 7-2 loss to St. Thomas. Barrett Norton got CV’s only other win, 8-2.
Daniel Rupp and Ted Ernst played well in close matches, both 8-5 losses. Chambers and
Norton played a very competitive 8-6 loss in doubles.
ConVal (3-7) hosts Bishop Brady (3-7) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
