Conant girls’ tennis traveled to WLC on Tuesday and won 9-0 to stay undefeated on the season.
At No. 1 singles, Conant’s Shannon Bennett and WLC’s Maddy Bacon had another of their instant-classic showdowns, going back and forth on some terrific points. Bennett would ultimately win 8-5.
Also picking up wins for Conant were Franka Clauss, Alex Dunn, Megan Wheeler, Esther Varnum and Nicci Munroe.
In doubles, Conant swept again, picking up wins from the teams of Bennett/Clauss, Dunn/Wheeler and Varnum/Munroe.
Conant (5-0) is the No. 1 team in Division III at this moment, with a slightly higher ranking than Profile (7-0). Bow is also undefeated at 4-0.
WLC is now 2-3 on the season.
The two teams are scheduled to face off again today at Conant at 4 p.m., though the weather forecast may have other ideas.
