The ConVal softball team had their highest scoring output of the season Monday against Conant, and had their best defensive showing as well, but it wasn’t enough to pick up their first win. The Orioles won 9-5.
Devon Blood of Conant had a monster game, going 3-3 with a single, a double, a triple, three runs scored and an RBI. Sierra Landry also had a big day for the Orioles, going 2-3 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.
Brenna Welch threw a complete game with six strikeouts.
For ConVal, Sasha Brock reached base safely in each plate appearance, going 3-3 with three singles, a walk and two runs scored. Rachyl Parslow and Hunter Anderson each knocked in a run.
Anderson went the distance, but got knocked around, allowing 13 hits in her six innings of work while striking out two.
The nine runs allowed were the fewest for a ConVal opponent so far this year, and the five runs scored were the most ConVal has had in a game this season.
Conant did most of their work in the fourth inning, where they scored five runs.
ConVal (0-5) was scheduled to travel up to Hanover (0-4) Wednesday after press time; they host Goffstown (5-0) Friday at 4 p.m.
Conant (3-1) travels to Pelham (2-3) on Friday at 4 p.m.
