The ConVal girls’ lacrosse team lost a heartbreaker at Lebanon on Monday, 11-10 in overtime.
“The team fought hard the whole game and never quit,” said head coach Derek Sorbello. “Both teams matched each other goal for goal.”
With ConVal trailing 9-8 late, Lebanon tried to slow the pace, but the Cougars came up with a turnover and tied the game. Lebanon then regained the lead before Grace Dell scored the tying goal with under a minute left.
Lebanon scored the winner in overtime.
Dell had five goals and Lily Sheridan had four goals and two assists. Katie Moorehead played huge in the midfield. Lily Denehy and Courtney Jones helped anchor the defense. Emma Crowley had 10 saves.
ConVal (1-2) hosts Pelham (4-1) on Friday at 4 p.m.
