The Mascenic Vikings boys’ baseball team made quick work of the Stevens Cardinals on Friday, winning in a runaway, 14-3.

Cooper Wayrynen pitched four innings for Mascenic and struck out three, while Travis Rautiola notched two Ks in his three innings of work.

Chase Holombo knocked in four runs in the game; Scott Humphrey and Daimon Gibson knocked in two apiece.

Gibson and Wayrynen each drew three walks.

Mascenic (2-1) is off until Friday, when they host Bishop Brady (1-1).

The next day, they’ll travel to Cooperstown, New York, where they will take on Hopkinton (1-2). Check out next Tuesday’s Ledger-Transcript for a story on that trip.
