Jaffrey Public Library has hired Kayla Charlonne as its new youth services librarian, filling a position vacant since 2021. Charlonne began her role Sept. 16.
Charlonne comes to Jaffrey after seven years at Beals Memorial Library in Winchendon, Mass., where she led tween and teen services, managed grants and developed creative programs for youth. She has also taught English in South Korea and worked as a professional writing consultant at Mount Wachusett Community College. She is on track to complete a masterโs degree in library and information science from Valdosta State University this December.
The libraryโs youth services have been maintained by staff during the vacancy, including programs, events and outreach.
