Two people were injured and a dog was killed in a single-car crash on Gulf Road Monday afternoon, according to Peterborough police.
Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard said Monday police responded to Gulf Road at about 1:48 p.m. for a report of a car that had drifted across the westbound lane and struck a tree. Dorothy Patrician, 79, of Peterborough had been driving the 2014 Toyota Corolla when it went off the road.
Patrician and her male passenger were both taken to the hospital by the Peterborough Fire & Rescue ambulance.
A dog inside the vehicle was killed, Guinard said.
Police are still investigating the crash and do not yet know what caused the Toyota to drift off the road, he said.
