The town of Rindge has narrowed its town administrator search to three.
Select Board chair Robert Hamilton said Monday that he hopes to have a “meeting of the minds” during today’s (Tuesday) 9 a.m. board meeting to discuss the town’s next administrator. The position has been vacant since Jane Pitt left on March 30.
“We are hoping to have a non-public session to discuss who the next town administrator will be,” said Hamilton. “We had three interviews that worked out well for us.”
As the search for a town administrator winds down, the search for a new executive secretary and bookkeeper will begin.
Executive Secretary Katy Robbins will step down from her post this Friday, after accepting a position as the administrative assistant for Jaffrey’s DPW. Hamilton said the job posting has been sent out, and he hopes to have the position filled soon.
“Hopefully we can get someone to come in temporarily to keep the office open while we find a replacement,” said Hamilton. “Katy was hired about a year ago so hopefully some of the other applicants from that process will still be around and interested in the job.”
Hamilton said bookkeeper Tina Eaton left the town three weeks ago for Florida after her house sold. Hamilton said this job has also been posted and that a replacement will hopefully be found soon.
Deputy Fire Chief Robert Jackson has also resigned from his position, submitting his retirement to the board at a recent meeting.
“It is with a heavy heart that I submit my retirement from the Rindge Fire Department,” said Jackson, in a letter to the board dated July 13. “Due to the medical reasons which force this action, I will be unable to provide any notice.”
