AARP Tax-Aide program sites offering free prep

The AARP Tax-Aide program is once again providing free income tax preparation and e-filing in the Monadnock Region.

IRS certified counselors assist all taxpayers regardless of age with special attention given to those over age 50. One does not have to be a member of AARP to take advantage of this free service.

Those who desire assistance should bring tax information such as Forms W-2, 1099, 1098 and any other information concerning their taxes. Taxpayers should bring picture ID’s for themselves and Social Security cards or letters for all persons to be included on their tax return.

Taxpayers are requested to bring a copy of last year’s return.

The following AARP Tax-Aide Monadnock Region sites will be open beginning in early February:

■New Ipswich Library, 6 Main St., New Ipswich: Wednesdays, 2 to 6 p.m, through April 15. Appointments required. Schedule appointments online at NHhtaxhelp.org or dial 2-1-1.

■Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St., Jaffrey: Thursdays, 1 to 4:30 p.m., through April 9.

■Chamberlin Free Public Library, 46 Main St., Greenville: Fridays, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., through April 10.
