AARP Tax-Aide program sites offering free prep

The AARP Tax-Aide program is once again providing free income tax preparation and e-filing in the Monadnock Region.

IRS certified counselors assist all taxpayers regardless of age with special attention given to those over age 50. One does not have to be a member of AARP to take advantage of this free service.

Those who desire assistance should bring tax information such as Forms W-2, 1099, 1098 and any other information concerning their taxes. Taxpayers should bring picture IDโ€™s for themselves and Social Security cards or letters for all persons to be included on their tax return.

Taxpayers are requested to bring a copy of last yearโ€™s return.

The following AARP Tax-Aide Monadnock Region sites will be open beginning in early February:

โ– New Ipswich Library, 6 Main St., New Ipswich: Wednesdays, 2 to 6 p.m, through April 15. Appointments required. Schedule appointments online at NHhtaxhelp.org or dial 2-1-1.

โ– Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St., Jaffrey: Thursdays, 1 to 4:30 p.m., through April 9.

โ– Chamberlin Free Public Library, 46 Main St., Greenville:ย Fridays, 9 a.m. toย 12:30 p.m., through April 10.
