Project Shakespeare is celebrating 22 years of presenting engaging and accessible Shakespeare productions for the entire family this summer with a tour of a Shakespeare double feature.
“Shakespeare In Love” and “Macbeth” will be performed at venues in eight communities beginning July 30.
Project Shakespeare Too!, consisting of performers ages 6 through 12, will present “Shakespeare in Love,” song, dance, speeches and scenes from some of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays — “Romeo and Juliet,” “Much Ado About Nothing,” “Twelfth Night,” and “As You Like It.” This production is directed by Project Shakespeare alumnus Christopher Commander.
The mainstage company with performers ages 12 through 18 and selected PS Too! students will present “Macbeth,” a haunting story of ambition and its dark consequences. This production is directed by Deborah Shakespeare Thurber.
The schedule of performances is:
Saturday, July 30, Cathedral of the Pines, Rindge;
Sunday, July 31, Oribe Barn, Jaffrey Center;
Tuesday, Aug. 2, Jaffrey Civic Center lawn, Jaffrey;
