Spring has sprung at Sartell Farm in Temple, where Felicia and Ted Sartell welcomed a total of 36 new lambs this season.
The lambs join the 21 ewes, three rams and seven yearlings from last year’s season, bringing the farm’s total up to 67 sheep. The sheep are a breed used both for their meat and for the quality of their wool, Felicia Sartell said, and this year’s lambs will be a mix of both.
In addition to their lambing season, the Sartells also welcomed a new crop of chickens to add to their egg-laying stock.
The Sartells sell wool yarn and mutton and lamb meat products. They also eggs and raw milk, cheese and yogurt made from their animals at the farm’s store, located on their property on Fisk Hill Road in Temple. For information, call the farm at 603-878-3058 or send email to sartellfarm@gmail.com.
