New Hampshire’s 10 conservation districts have awarded more than $396,000 in grants to 49 local farms through the 2026 Climate Resilience Grant Program, organizers announced Friday.
The funding round brings the total distributed through the program to over $1 million since its launch in 2022.
This year’s recipients represent all 10 New Hampshire counties and include diversified vegetable growers, organic dairies, maple syrup producers, livestock operations, and cut-flower farms. More than half of the awarded farms meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s definition of historically underserved producers, such as beginning, limited-resource, and veteran farmers.
Eight of the funded projects target energy improvements, while 41 focus on drought-resilient irrigation, soil health initiatives to sequester carbon, and practices aimed at protecting local ecosystems.
Monadnock region recipients include Britton Farm and Brookfield Farm in Walpole, Steppingstone Commons and Whittaker’s Homestead in Alstead, Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm in Peterborough, and Wildhollow Farm in Hillsborough.
The grant program is supported by the You Have Our Trust Fund, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program through the state Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food, and private donations.
