Electric Earth Concerts will present “Light & Shade,” a classical performance spanning Romantic-era compositions to contemporary works, on Saturday, Aug. 1, at First Church in Jaffrey.
The 7 p.m. performance features French Romantic composer Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for Violin, Piano, and Strings alongside modern pieces, including American composer Paul Brantley’s “…in all this shadow land…” and Margaret Bonds’ musical setting of Psalm 23.
The featured musicians include pianist Emely Phelps, violinists David McCarroll, Grant Houston, and Isabelle Durrenberger, cellist Angela Park, soprano Rebecca Farley, harpist Tomina Parvanova Lyden, flutist Laura Gilbert, and violist Jonathan Bagg.
General admission is $30, payable online or at the door via cash or check. Children and their parents will be admitted free of charge as part of a youth outreach initiative this season.
