The ConVal boys tennis team rebounded from a tough start to the season with a dominant performance in its home opener Friday, sweeping Coe-Brown.

After opening the week with back-to-back 9-0 losses to Plymouth on Monday and Hollis on Wednesday at the Longfellow Racquet Club in Nashua, ConVal turned things around on its home courts at Adams Playground.

Playing against Coe-Brown, the Cougars showed their depth and balance from top to bottom. Senior Brady Clark led the way at No. 1 singles, with Jacob Levitz and Silas Brassard adding wins at Nos. 2 and 3. ConVal continued its strong play down the lineup as Luke Schoel, Van Stahlin and Quinn Lake completed a sweep of singles action.

The Cougars carried that momentum into doubles, where the teams of Clark and Brassard, Levitz and Schoel, and Stahlin and Lake secured victories to complete the shutout.

ConVal, coached by Russ Fernald and Pete Samuelson, opened the season against two of the top teams in Division II but showed marked improvement in Friday’s win.

The roster includes Clark, Levitz, four sophomores — Schoel, Stahlin, Kiran Galbraith and Brassard — and freshman Lake.
