Monadnock United Way has launched Youth Day of Caring, a region-wide initiative that will engage students in volunteer projects throughout April at four Monadnock region afterschool sites: ACCESS Winchester, Keene Family Y and the Monadnock Youth Coalition, and Hillsboro-Deering Afterschool Program.

Students in local afterschool programs will design and carry out youth-led projects supporting schools, neighborhoods and local nonprofits. Projects may focus on environmental stewardship, kindness initiatives, connection or support for local organizations.

Monadnock United Way and lead sponsor NBT Bank will host a celebration in May to recognize participating students and programs. Student representatives will share project highlights, and certificates will be presented.
