The Peterborough International Affairs Forum will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Mariposa Museum to discuss the paradoxes of President Donald Trumpโs foreign policy over the past year.
The program will be led by Robert Beck, a retired foreign service officer, who will compare U.S. foreign policy during Trumpโs first term with his current administration. The discussion will focus on how Trumpโs policies toward Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and other regions align with the administrationโs โAmerica Firstโ strategy outlined in the 2025 National Security Strategy.
Beck and Peter Henriques, a former international business executive, will co-moderate the discussion, a spin-off from the Great Decisions programs presented in 2025.
Assisting Beck and Henriques is a steering committee including Dan Gros, Karl Kaiser,
and Tony Pascale of Peterborough and Jay Schechter of Dublin. The forum will meet at the Mariposa on the first Thursday of the month, with a summer break from June to August. The next meeting will be on March 5.
The Mariposa Museum is located at 26 Main St.
