Dr. Pedro A. Sandín-Fremaint will discuss his new book, “Hello, Stranger: Thresholds of the Unfamiliar,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Hancock Town Library.
The program centers on themes from the book, published by Pandora Press in 2025, which examines encounters with unfamiliar people, cultures, identities and ideas, and how individuals respond to those encounters across different stages of life.
Sandín-Fremaint is a native of Puerto Rico and a retired professor of French at the University of Puerto Rico and Spanish at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He is also the author of “And Yet… A Faith Journey” and “The Holy Gospel of Uncertainty,” both published in 2021.
The event is free and open to the public.
