The Cornucopia Project and the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) held their second cohort gathering for the “Bringing the Farm to School with Cornucopia Project” initiative on Oct. 2 at the Cornucopia Project Educational Farm in Peterborough.

The meeting brought together local agricultural producers, food service leaders, and institutional buyers, including representatives from Goodwin Family Farm, Silver Spring Fruit Farm, Hungry Bear Farm, the Well School, Food Connects, and Whitsons Culinary Group.

The gathering focused on farm-to-school procurement relationships across 14 schools in the Jaffrey-Rindge and Contoocook Valley school districts. Part of a two-year, $100,000 initiative, the project aims to increase local food purchases by participating schools by 20% or more by summer 2027, serving 11 rural towns and roughly 3,500 children and families.
