Schenectady, NY – Elizabeth B. Taft died September 23rd, 2026 at the age of 91. She was born in Altamonte Springs, FL on December 8th, 1934 to Richard J. and Mildred (Shuttleworth) Bundy.
She was predeceased by her son Thomas, her 1st husband Robert, her 2nd husband John Chequer and two brothers Howard and Richard Bundy, Jr.
Elizabeth (Bess), leaves behind sons, James Taft of Schenectady, NY; Peter Taft and his wife Jennifer of Lacey, WA; daughter Martha Plante of Hilton Head, SC; and grandchildren Charles and Margaret Taft of Washington and Caroline Plante of Colorado.
Bess was very active in her younger years and enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing and other sports. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzler until late in life.
She will be laid to rest next to family, in the town of her beloved summer home, Speculator, NY. A small service is planned for next summer.
