The ConVal High School girls’ varsity soccer team recorded its first shutout of the season Friday night, playing to a 0-0 draw against Manchester Memorial.

After an early push from Manchester Memorial, the Cougars controlled much of the game’s momentum and kept play largely in the Crusaders’ half. The hosts relied primarily on breakaway attacks down the right wing, but ConVal goalkeeper Amelie Davis was quick off her line to deny the few opportunities that reached her goal.

ConVal created two key scoring chances in the second half, coming close on a loose ball in the penalty box following a corner kick and again on a shot by Gia Lothrop with roughly 10 minutes remaining.
