ConVal girls soccer dropped a 5-2 decision to St. Thomas Aquinas after taking an early two-goal lead.
The Cougars opened strong, with Larianna Trudel scoring from just outside the penalty box in the 14th minute. Four minutes later, Khloe Rusin added a goal from nearly the same distance to give ConVal a 2-0 advantage. St. Thomas responded before halftime to cut the deficit to 2-1.
St. Thomas adjusted its lineup in the second half and scored the equalizer four minutes after kickoff. After 25 minutes of back-and-forth play, St. Thomas pulled ahead with goals in the 71st and 73rd minutes, then capitalized on a late breakaway off a cleared ConVal corner kick to seal the 5-2 win.
