Peterborough Folk Music celebrates 30 years with Sept. 18 concert
Peterborough Folk Music will present a concert featuring Seth Glier and Antje Duvekot on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture’s Bass Hall.
A 30th anniversary video screening will begin at 6:45 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $30 online and $35 the day of the show. Admission for children 16 and under is $10.

Peterborough Folk Music hosts Folksoul concert in Harrisville
Peterborough Folk Music will present Folksoul in an outdoor concert on Sunday, Sept. 20, at a private residence in Harrisville. The address will be provided in the ticket confirmation email.
The event includes a potluck at 1 p.m., with arrival starting at 12:45 p.m. For concert-only attendees, arrival is at 1:30 p.m., with the music beginning at 1:45 p.m.

The Park Theatre promotes Christine Witham and Allison Monaghan
The Park Theatre in Jaffrey has promoted longtime staff members Christine Witham and Allison Monaghan to expanded leadership roles, effective Sept. 1.
Witham, who has served as the theater’s box office and event manager since 2021, has been promoted to theater manager and will oversee day-to-day operations. Monaghan, who has worked with leadership since 2016 in administrative and human resources roles, has been promoted to office manager. Both will report to Steve Jackson, CEO and managing director of the venue.
“Christine and Allison have both earned these promotions, and we are extremely fortunate to have them as part of The Park Theatre family,” Jackson said.
The promotions coincide with the fifth anniversary of the opening of the theater’s performing arts center in downtown Jaffrey.
Icons of pop drag tribute show set for Saturday at Colonial Theatre
Keene Pride will present “ICONS OF POP: Queens Reign Forever” on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Colonial Theatre, 95 Main St. in Keene.
The drag tribute show serves as the centerpiece of Keene Pride Week and marks the fifth and final installment of the organization’s main stage production series. The cast features Peppermint, Jay Kay, Sherry Vine, Miss Ginger Soulless, and an ensemble cast directed by Adam Toepfer and Daniel Gold.
“What began as a single tribute to Madonna grew into a theatrical tradition that has brought thousands of people together to celebrate queer artistry, music, and community,” Toepfer said.

The event precedes the annual Keene Pride Festival, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon to 6 p.m. in downtown Keene.
Peterborough Library to host presentation on Declaration of Independence
The Peterborough Town Library will host a presentation, “Unpacking the Declaration of Independence: What It Meant Then and Now,” on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at 2 Concord St. in Peterborough.
Presented by New Hampshire Humanities speaker David Alcox, the program will examine the document’s text, key historical figures, Enlightenment influences, and modern relevance. The event is presented in partnership with the Monadnock Center for History and Culture as part of a series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Michael J. Tougias to present extreme survival at Peterborough Library
The Peterborough Town Library and the Friends of the Library will host author Michael J. Tougias for a presentation, “Extreme Survival,” on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tougias, a New York Times bestselling author, will share stories and lessons of resilience from survivors of extraordinary challenges, including John McCain, Viktor Frankl, and Ernest Shackleton.
The program is free and open to the public, and registration is not required. Funding is provided by the Friends of the Peterborough Library and New Hampshire Humanities.
Gustavo Moradel to perform at Muusic 4UU concert series on Sept. 19
The Muusic 4UU concert series will launch its fall season featuring singer-songwriter Gustavo Moradel and his band on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main St.
The Honduran-born musician and advocate, known for his social activism and widespread online performances, will present a concert sponsored by the Bessie Foundation and RBC Wealth Management in collaboration with the church’s Harbor Coffee House.

Cinematic refuge concert featuring Catalyst Quartet coming to Jaffrey
Electric Earth Concerts will present “Cinematic Refuge” featuring the Grammy Award-winning Catalyst Quartet on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. at the First Church in Jaffrey.
The program features 20th and 21st century movie score compositions written around the ideals of freedom from oppression, including works by John Adams, Max Richter, Philip Glass, Bernard Herrmann, and Erich Wolfgang Korngold.

Skynyrd’s Hatchet to perform Southern rock classics at the Park Theatre
Skynyrd’s Hatchet, a tribute band honoring Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet, will perform on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at The Park Theatre, located at 19 Main St. in Jaffrey.
The performance will take place in the 330-seat Eppes Auditorium and feature faithful instrumental and vocal renditions of Southern rock classics, including “Gimme Three Steps,” “Flirtin’ With Disaster,” and “Free Bird.” The venue’s lounge will be open for beer, wine, and cocktails prior to the show.

Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Monadnock Center on Sept. 19
LaDonna Musicale and RUMBARROCO will present “Latin-Baroque Fiesta: A Journey of Love and Longing” on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, 19 Grove St. in Peterborough.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the performance features Ibero-American music, including the Fandango and Marionas, paying tribute to women and ethnic minorities across European, African, Indigenous, and Latin American musical traditions.

Keene State College announces 2026-2027 faculty and guest artist recital series
Keene State College’s Music Department will launch its 2026-2027 Faculty & Guest Artist Recital Series on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Redfern Arts Center in Keene.
The series kicks off with Dr. Alexander Kollias presenting “A Celebration of Jewish Music for Clarinet” alongside pianist Vladimir Odinokikh. Fall performances also include the New Hampshire premiere of Geoffrey Hudson’s oratorio “A Passion for the Planet” on Sunday, Oct. 4; a voice faculty recital on Sunday, Oct. 18; and “A Salute to American Immigrant Composers” on Sunday, Nov. 14.
The series, sponsored by Douglas Cuddle Toys, will continue with spring performances running through April 11, 2027.
