Hancock, NH – Marguerite ‘Peg’ (Reynolds) McLeod Aug. 3, 1926-Sept. 14, 2026, 100 years old.
Born in Peterborough NH to Carl and Laura Reynolds, the 3rd of 12 children. Educated in Peterborough, attended Plymouth Teachers College, married Kenneth A. McLeod, Jr. Nov. 6, 1948. From 1948-1978, they resided in Milford, NH where she was a devoted wife to Ken and mother to daughters Sharron and Nadene, in addition to keeping the books for McLeod Brothers Orchards and she was an active member of the Milford Congregational Church. In 1978, Ken and ‘Peg’ moved to the home they built in the Hancock orchard where they enjoyed the remainder of their lives on Norway Hill and experienced their happiest years hosting children from school groups, families and groups of visitors of all ages during the fall harvest, before Pick-Your-Own was widely offered to the public at NH orchards. She received great enjoyment from time contributing to many volunteer organizations at the Monadnock Community Hospital for more than four decades, plus the Hancock and Peterborough Congregational Churches, and in later years, Serendipity in Peterborough.
Pre-deceased by Kenneth A. McLeod, Jr. on Sept. 8, 2007, survived by daughters Sharron Wilkins and husband Stephen of Mont Vernon, NH and Nadene McLeod and husband John Moir of Piopolis QC and Carrabassett Valley, Maine, grandsons Kevin Wilkins, and his wife Allyson Wilkins and their nine children of Greenville, NH, and Kenneth Moir, and his wife Crystal Moir of New Brunswick and Maine. Three of her siblings remain: Lillian and Brenda of Massachusetts and Roger of Lyndeborough.
The service will be at 2:00pm Friday the 18th September at the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, the same place where she and Ken were married in 1948.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Contributions in her remembrance to either the Monadnock Community Hospital or the Union Congregational Church, both in Peterborough, NH.
