The Monadnock Writers Group will host its annual September meeting on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the James Baldwin Library at MacDowell, 100 High St. in Peterborough. The event is free, open to the public, with light refreshments provided.
The program includes introductions, announcements, and a 10-minute reading by member Marc Woods. Two current MacDowell artists-in-residence will also read from their works in progress, followed by a Q&A session with attendees. Past MacDowell artists who have presented at the group’s meetings include Gerald Conley, Caroline Schmidt, Dianne Cao, Joanna Pearson, Lydia Martin, and Tamar Raphael.
Founded in 1984, the Monadnock Writers Group supports writers of all genres and experience levels through monthly meetings, contests, and social events. The group typically meets in the 1833 Room of the Peterborough Town Library.
Upcoming programs include a presentation in October by Emerson Sistare, co-owner of The Toadstool Bookshop, on publishing trends and local bookselling, as well as a November talk by New Hampshire true crime author Milli Knudsen.
