A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 15, after colliding with a utility pole at 177 Colburn Road in Temple. Emergency crews, including the Temple Volunteer Fire Department, Peterborough Fire & Rescue, and the Temple-Greenville Police Department, responded to the scene at approximately 2:52 p.m.

First responders found the vehicle off the roadway against an embankment, disabled beneath a fallen utility pole and live electrical wires. The driver remained trapped inside the vehicle until Eversource personnel arrived to shut off power to the line, allowing emergency medical services to extricate and transport the patient for evaluation.

Officers from the Peterborough, Wilton, and Mason police departments assisted at the scene. Northeast Performance Diesel/Northeast Truck Service towed the vehicle, and a member of the Temple Volunteer Fire Department repaired a mailbox damaged during the incident. The Temple-Greenville Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
