Composers Yuhan Su and Edward Simon will present a joint program of live music and recordings during a MacDowell Downtown presentation on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Monadnock Center for History & Culture.
The event features live performances, audio and video recordings, and unrecorded compositions for four-hand piano performed together by Su and Simon. Su, a vibraphonist and jazz composer, explores theme and contrast inspired by her album “OVER the MOONs.” Simon, a Venezuelan-American pianist, will share selections from “When the Dogs Howl,” a multidisciplinary project addressing the Venezuelan refugee crisis.
The program is free and open to the public, with advance registration encouraged.
