Peterborough Fire & Rescue and the Peterborough Police Department responded to a two-car collision at the intersection of Old Street Road and Route 101 at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28.

According to Police Chief Scott Guinard, a passenger vehicle traveling across Route 101 from Old Street Road toward Route 123 was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer heading toward Keene. The driver of the car did not see the truck, and the truck driver was unable to avoid the collision despite attempting to swerve right, Guinard said.

Emergency medical personnel evaluated all involved individuals at the scene. One person was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for further evaluation, though no serious injuries were reported. Route 101 remained closed for approximately 90 minutes while emergency crews cleared the scene.
