Laura Knoy, founding host of New Hampshire Public Radio’s “The Exchange,” will present at the Monadnock Summer Lyceum on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m., discussing her transition from radio to writing fiction.
Knoy, who hosted the daily call-in program for 25 years before stepping down in 2021, will share insights into building an encore career. She recently published her debut historical novel, “The Shopkeeper of Alsace” (Bedazzled Ink Publishing Company, 2025).
Mel Allen, editor of Yankee magazine and author of “Here in New England: Unforgettable Stories of People, Places, and Memories That Connect Us All” (Earth, Sky, + Water, 2025), will moderate the event.
Musical performances by folk singer-songwriter Volkert Volkersz, guitarist Ezra Landis, and drummer Owen Landis will begin at 10:30 a.m. preceding the presentation. A question-and-answer period and an informal reception at noon will follow.
The event will take place at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church and is co-sponsored by RiverMead and Microspec Corporation.
