Dennis McKenney, an independent consulting forester from Bennington, has been awarded the 2026 President’s Award by the Association of Consulting Foresters of America.
The award, presented at the association’s annual national conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, recognizes individuals for outstanding service and contributions to ACF and the forestry profession.
An ACF member since 1984, McKenney is a licensed land surveyor and certified arborist who has served in multiple leadership capacities, including as president of the Practicing Foresters Institute Board of Trustees. Past President Rick N. Barnes honored McKenney for his decades of service, highlighting his role in co-chairing annual fundraising efforts with his wife, Darlene, and guiding PFI through a key organizational transition following a major donor gift.
McKenney was recognized alongside co-recipients Matthew Lynch of Prince George, Virginia, and James McCabe of Huddleston, Virginia.
