A new weekly community market is launching in downtown Peterborough, bringing local farms, artisans and small businesses together for an eight-week summer pilot season.
The Our Town Downtown Market will debut Friday, July 10, and run every Friday through Aug. 28. It will operate from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Toadstool Bookshop, alongside Depot Square Park.
Held in partnership with the Toadstool Bookshop, the market is timed to coincide with the town’s established Friday Night Summer Music Series by the river. Organizers say the combined events are expected to draw several hundred visitors each week to the downtown area.
Organizers emphasized that the new Friday market is intended to complement, not replace, the longstanding Peterborough Farmers’ Market, which continues to run Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bowling Acres.
Community members interested in volunteering, becoming vendors or finding more information are encouraged to contact the market organizers.
