The Peterborough Town Library will host a presentation by speaker Meg Mott titled “How the Constitution Helps Us to Disagree” on Saturday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m.
The discussion will explore how the basic principles of the U.S. Constitution—specifically freedom of speech and due process—can be used to navigate contentious issues and foster political understanding. Mott, a constitutional law and political theory instructor at Keene State College and former professor at Marlboro College, will examine various political arguments from progressive, conservative and libertarian viewpoints.
The event is free and open to the public. It is being held in partnership with the Monadnock Center for History and Culture as part of a 2026 collaborative programming series, with funding provided by New Hampshire Humanities.
