The Keene Cheshiremen Chorus, one of New Hampshireโs longest-standing barbershop ensembles, has announced a series of special summer performances celebrating both its 75th anniversary and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Throughout the summer season, the chorus will perform a vibrant program of patriotic and Americana classics featuring its signature four-part harmony.
The summer performance schedule includes:
- Friday, July 3, at 7 p.m.: The chorus will perform patriotic favorites at The Park Theatre in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, as part of the “Salute to America Variety Show,” which also features humor from Fred Marple and “Frost Heaves” along with other local talent.
- Saturday, July 4, starting at noon: The ensemble will kick off the Monadnock-250 Celebration at Railroad Square in downtown Keene before moving to various pop-up locations throughout the festival.
- Saturday, July 18: The chorus will open the SummerFEST event at Alysonโs Orchard in Walpole, New Hampshire, with a selection of patriotic songs.
Founded in 1952, the Keene Cheshiremen Chorus is a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The group regularly performs throughout the Monadnock Region and beyond, focusing on community spirit and the preservation of the American barbershop singing tradition.
