A local man suffered serious injuries Saturday evening after losing control of his trail bike on private property.
New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7 p.m. June 27. Emergency personnel from the Dublin Fire Department, a Peterborough Fire and Rescue ambulance crew, and New Hampshire State Police also responded.
An investigation revealed that John Giffin, 32, of Dublin, was operating the trail bike when his foot slipped from the peg, causing him to crash.
Giffin sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital by Peterborough Fire and Rescue. Authorities said improper use of equipment appears to be the leading cause of the crash.
Fish and Game officials remind all off-highway recreational vehicle operators to remain aware of potential hazards, operate within their personal limits, and always use safety equipment.
