Historic Harrisville Inc. has been awarded $400,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority to support the redevelopment of the Triphammer Mill building in the Cheshire Mill Complex.
The funding will help transform the vacant historic mill building into 5,000 square feet of public commercial space as part of the Historic Harrisville Triphammer Redevelopment Project. The project is expected to support two new businesses and create 25 jobs.
In addition to redeveloping one of Harrisville’s oldest mill buildings, the project includes the replacement of an aging wastewater and septic system that serves the mill complex and the surrounding village. Officials said the infrastructure improvements will help preserve existing economic development assets and support future business growth.
The award was among $5.54 million in tax credits distributed by CDFA to 22 nonprofit organizations across New Hampshire for community and economic development projects.
