Beverly Edwards

Temple, NH – Beverly Edwards, 85, of Temple, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Evanston, Illinois, on July 3, 1940, Beverly lived a life defined by compassion, determination, and service to others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, environmental stewardship, and unwavering advocacy for the protection of our planet.

Beverly is survived by her beloved life partner of 41 years, Mary Beth Ayvazian; her sister, Gayle Richards of Keene, New Hampshire; her son, John B. Edwards (Katherine) of Palm Beach, Florida; her son, Scott L. Edwards of Temple, New Hampshire; and her daughter, Julie L. Bowler (John) of Spencer, Massachusetts.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jude Edwards (Alexis) of Nevada City, California; Michael Bowler of Spencer, Massachusetts; James Bowler of Charlestown, MA, Liam Bowler of Boston, Massachusetts; as well as her beloved great-grandchild, Johnny B. Edwards of Nevada City, California.

She is predeceased by her parents, Roscoe (Dick) and Elinore Richards and her beloved grandson, John B. Edwards, III.

Beverly dedicated much of her life to environmental activism and community service. She firmly believed that one person can make a difference and spent decades proving it. She initiated and served as Chair of the Temple Energy Committee where her leadership and vision helped advance sustainability efforts in her community and beyond.

In recognition of her tireless advocacy, Beverly received a Climate Champion Award for her efforts in funding granted to Temple, NH in 2009 by the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Her commitment to addressing climate change was spurred by her love of her grandchildren. She wanted to leave them a pristine and sustainable world. Through her efforts, she inspired countless others to become engaged stewards of the environment.

Beverly’s life stands as a testament to the belief that meaningful change begins with a single voice and a willingness to act. Her courage, kindness, and dedication to future generations will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
