Gail Coffey will lead a group hike to the summit of North Pack on the Wapack Trail Saturday, May 30.

The moderate 3.1-mile round-trip hike includes 954 feet of elevation gain and one short but steep rocky section. Participants are encouraged to bring hiking poles, sturdy boots, water and layered clothing. Cookies will be served at the summit, which offers views of Mount Monadnock.

The hike is expected to last about two to 2 1/2 hours.

Coffey is a Friends of the Wapack board member and trail adopter who has led hikes for the Harris Center and other organizations.

The group will meet at 10 a.m. at the Wapack National Wildlife Refuge parking area on Mountain Road in Greenfield. No dogs are allowed.

The rain date is Sunday, May 31.
