New Ipswich observed Memorial Day on Sunday with its traditional ceremonies honoring the nationโ€™s fallen service members.

As it does each year, the town held two separate parades and ceremonies. The morning observance began in the center of Smithville village, with participants marching to South Cemetery for commemorative ceremonies.

In the afternoon, a second parade stepped off from the New Ipswich Congregational Church and proceeded to Center Cemetery for additional ceremonies, including the decoration of the townโ€™s war memorials.
