Cecil B. DeMille’s original silent epic “The Ten Commandments” (1923) will be screened with live music on Easter Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall Theatre, 40 Main St., Wilton.
The film will be accompanied by Jeff Rapsis, a New Hampshire–based silent film accompanist who performs at screenings nationwide.
The program is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 per person to support the theater’s silent film programming.
DeMille’s early Biblical spectacle was a major hit in its original release and later inspired his 1956 remake. The film opens with the story of Moses and the Exodus before shifting to a modern-day drama about two brothers who make opposite choices about living by the Ten Commandments.
