The Colonial Theatre will present Ladysmith Black Mambazo at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at The Colonial Theatre, 95 Main St., Keene.
The South African vocal group marks 65 years since founder Joseph Shabalala formed the ensemble in 1960. Ladysmith Black Mambazo has won five Grammy Awards and received 19 nominations, according to the theater.
The group is known for isicathamiya, a traditional South African vocal style, and gained international attention through Paul Simon’s “Graceland.”
Members are Thulani Shabalala, Sibongiseni Shabalala, Thamsanqa Shabalala, Msizi Shabalala, Albert Mazibuko, Abednego Mazibuko, Mfanafuthi Dlamini, Pius Shezi and Sabelo Mthembu.
