Project Shakespeare will presentย โ€œAnne of Green Gablesโ€ย by L.M. Montgomery, adapted and directed by Deborah Shakespeare Thurber, at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at First Congregational Church, 6 Payson Hill Road, Rindge.

The play follows orphan Anne Shirley, who arrives at the Green Gables farm of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert in Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. Expecting a boy to help on the farm, the siblings instead receive an imaginative redheaded girl who gradually wins them over.

The production is the culmination of Project Shakespeareโ€™s โ€œOne Play in One Weekโ€ program, in which students rehearse, stage and perform a play during March school break.

The cast features Amelia Rosbach and Emmy Ratcliffe as younger and older Anne, Eleanora Kishinevsky as Marilla, Jem Russell as Matthew Cuthbert, and Madelyn Hammer as Rachel Lynde.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available 30 minutes before curtain. Information: projectshakespeare.org.
