Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter, in partnership with the Peterborough Town Library and the Peterborough Food Pantry, will host a screening of โThe Line: Poverty in Americaโ on Thursday, March 5, followed by a panel discussion and community conversation.
Directed and produced by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Linda Midgett, the film looks at the realities of living below the poverty line in the United States. Through personal stories, the documentary examines the daily challenges faced by individuals and families navigating financial instability.
Following the screening, a panel discussion will feature Glo Morison, director and president of the Peterborough Food Pantry; Susan Howard, program director of Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter; and Elizabeth Goodhue, MATS board member.
The discussion will explore how poverty affects individuals and families both nationally and in the Monadnock region, with time for audience questions and community dialogue.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the 1833 Room at the Peterborough Town Library. It is free and open to the public.
