Wendy Durrett for Library Trustee
Beatrix Potter once said โWe cannot stay home all our lives, we must present ourselves to the world and we must look upon it as an adventure.โ
My decision to run for library trustee echoes in these words by one of our most beloved childrenโs book authors and illustrators. Not only do I see this experience as an adventure, but also as a way to give back to our little world in Greenfield and beyond.
Potter had a tremendous love for literature and also for animals. Throughout my life I have dedicated my time to helping animals as a veterinary technician and have also owned a pet-sitting business for many years. Taking care of others and their pets has always been a passion of mine. I plan to use that same dedicated energy to ensure that our library is a space that enriches our community and gives our children a place to build their futures.
As a library trustee, I will ensure our library serves the best interests of our community by providing a gathering place with free access to materials, protecting its resources, and promoting literacy. I will work with the library trustee board, the director, and most importantly, I will serve you.
I am humbly asking for your vote on March 10.
