Wendy Durrett for Library Trustee

Beatrix Potter once said โ€œWe cannot stay home all our lives, we must present ourselves to the world and we must look upon it as an adventure.โ€

My decision to run for library trustee echoes in these words by one of our most beloved childrenโ€™s book authors and illustrators. Not only do I see this experience as an adventure, but also as a way to give back to our little world in Greenfield and beyond.

Potter had a tremendous love for literature and also for animals. Throughout my life I have dedicated my time to helping animals as a veterinary technician and have also owned a pet-sitting business for many years. Taking care of others and their pets has always been a passion of mine. I plan to use that same dedicated energy to ensure that our library is a space that enriches our community and gives our children a place to build their futures.

As a library trustee, I will ensure our library serves the best interests of our community by providing a gathering place with free access to materials, protecting its resources, and promoting literacy. I will work with the library trustee board, the director, and most importantly, I will serve you.

I am humbly asking for your vote on March 10.
