The Francestown School Committee will host a series of public forums in several of the nine towns in the Contoocook Valley Cooperative School District (ConVal) to share updated information and answer questions about Francestownโ€™s proposal to withdraw from the district and form an independent school district.

Forums will be held in Hancock on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Caverly Meeting Room and in Dublin on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Dub Hub.

At the forums, committee members will address reasons for pursuing withdrawal, including local control, fiscal responsibility, and preservation of Francestown Elementary School, updated financial analysis and impacts on Francestown and remaining ConVal towns, educational plans for elementary students and tuition arrangements for middle and high school and examples from other small New Hampshire districts that have successfully withdrawn.

Committee members will also respond to questions regarding governance, staffing, special education services, and the proposed timeline if voters approve withdrawal.
