Mascenic seniors Erin Oโ€™Shea and Kaitlin Oโ€™Shea turned in record-breaking performances Sunday at the NHIAA Division II Indoor Track and Field State Championships at Plymouth State University, with both finishing as runners-up in their respective events and qualifying for the New England Championships.

Kaitlin Oโ€™Shea placed second in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:38.69, shaving six seconds off her personal best to break her own school record.

Erin Oโ€™Shea followed with a second-place finish in the 1,500 meters, clocking 4:52.13. Her time was 14 seconds faster than her previous best and also set a new school record.

Both athletes qualified for the New England Championships, scheduled for Feb. 28 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston. Qualification is based on the top six times across Divisions I, II and III in each event.
