A call to fund our future
Investing in education benefits us all. With funding cuts to Keene State, UNH, and Plymouth State, we hurt ourselves and our communities. Students from public, private, and home schools all feed into our state universities, which consistently rank among the top choices for our in-state students. A loss to our schools is a loss to us all.
Our schools drive economic growth through job creation, work force development, and research and innovation that can lead to new ideas, start-ups, businesses, patents, and products. Schools attract young people, as well as their families and friends, who contribute positively to our region from direct spending to knowledge sharing and civic engagement. Our students can do amazing things with support and we can retain young talent in the state by maintaining a wider range of programs that broaden educational experiences.
School employees and students support local businesses, hire local work crews, and provide resources, spaces, and support for community projects. They also provide microcredentials and training for professionals in town advancing in their careers. Tuition increases, which can further burden our younger generation, are not the only solution. Thank you to the older folks bridging the knowledge gaps of the younger generation through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and advocacy. With investment in our schools, we can enhance your efforts. Time to get creative.
