Start the new year with the Peanut Butter Chip Chase 5K in Temple

The New Year’s Day Peanut Butter Chip Chase 5K will return to Temple on Jan. 1, continuing a nearly 50-year local tradition.

Runners and walkers are invited to start the year with the noon race, which will be followed by refreshments, prizes and age-category awards. The event will be professionally timed.

Online registration is open through midnight Dec. 31 at RunSignup by searching “Chip Chase.” Participants may also register in person on race day between 10 and 11:30 a.m. with cash or check.

Entry fees are $30 for adults and $25 for runners age 16 and younger. Race T-shirts will be available to the first 120 registrants, with preferred sizes offered while supplies last.
