The Rindge Recreation Department hosted the annual tree lighting on the town common on Friday evening. The event included carols from the Rindge Memorial School Choir, a visit from Santa Claus, and cookies and hot chocolate.

The Rindge Athletic Men’s Social Club and TD Bank also announced the Rindge Young Citizen of the Year and the Rindge Citizen of the Year.

Citizen of the Year was awarded to Jen Marszalek, who was unable to attend the tree-lighting ceremony. Marszalek has served as the chair of the Rindge Food Pantry for the past several years, including through the pandemic and recent federal government shutdown.

The Young Citizen of the Year is Alise Sulin. Sulin is a Conant Middle High School senior, a member of the Interact Club, and is the service coordinator for the club. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been on the varsity spring track team for three years, and four years on the varsity swim team, including as captain for the past two years.
