The Antrim Police Department reported multiple accidents around town on the afternoon and evening of Friday, Nov. 28, as unexpected snow squalls caused slippery conditions on the town’s roads and highways.

Three of the accidents happened on Route 9 or Keene Road, as drivers failed to navigate sharp curves on the state highway or lost control due to snow on the road.

Two accidents occurred on Concord Street or Route 202, and another was reported on Pleasant Street.

One person was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, but no serious injuries were reported.

The Antrim Police Department issued a weather advisory Friday afternoon, urging drivers to use “extreme caution,” particularly on Route 9, and recommended drivers “reduce speed, brake gently, allow extra time, and make sure headlights are on.”

The advisory also urged drivers to keep an eye out for plow trucks and emergency vehicles, and give them plenty of room to operate.
