The Foundation for Healthy Communities recognized a Monadnock Community Hospital nurse for excellence in patient safety and quality at its annual meeting in October.
The Foundation presented the Clint Jones New Hampshire Nursing Award to Laura Moran, RN, of Monadnock Community Hospital. The award honors nurses who demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm and commitment to the profession, reflecting the legacy of Clint Jones, who worked to encourage nursing careers across New Hampshire.
Moran was recognized for her clinical leadership and for initiatives that strengthen care across departments. She recently began cross-training in the hospital’s Emergency Department and Medical Surgical Unit to help improve communication and patient handoff procedures. She used those experiences to establish standards designed to meet the needs and time pressures of both departments, improving continuity of care for patients.
