Acting police chief Frank Shea was sworn in as Greenfield’s new chief of police last week. Shea, a Greenfield native who graduated from ConVal High School, began his career as an intern at the Greenfield Police Department in 2006 and has worked at the department since then. He was promoted to sergeant in 2020 and had been serving as acting chief since summer 2025, following the retirement of longtime Chief Brian Giammarino.
